Christmas Cove, Maine

A romantic oceanfront lodging for two with a queen sized bed, one bath with shower, fully furnished kitchen, living room with wood burning fireplace and dining table, and screened porch overlooking John’s Bay.

Our house is one of the original buildings at the historic Miles Fresh Air Camp founded in 1924 and was used as the dormitory. Babe Ruth and Ruth Gordon were two of the notable visitors of the children’s camp. It was purchased by the former owner in the early 1950s and converted into the floor plan you see today, but we have added a few features since we bought the property in 1996.

Our camp has been featured in the September 1997 issue of Country Living magazine, July-August 1999 issue of Country Living Gardener magazine, Out on the Porch 2001 Calendar (Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill, 2001), Gardens Maine Style (DownEast Books, 2001), and Country Living: The New Look of Country (Hearst Books, 2004).

For questions, availability, and to make a reservation, please check our VRBO listing or contact Sharon Lovejoy or Jeff Prostovich at or call 805-441-3777. Minimum one week stay, but we are flexible on starting day. Contact us for shorter periods if openings exist.
